The third Global Space Traffic Management work is taking place at the Royal Observatory Edinburgh on August 28-30 2018.

This is the third workshop in an annual series that began in 2016.

In 2016 the inaugural Global Space Traffic Management workshop was held in Edinburgh Scotland, with a group of global experts. What they found was that given the rate of technology change and the current Space 2.0 hype, it’s difficult to predict what space will look like in 10 years’ time, and therefore it’s difficult to accurately predict what kind of regulation and controls will be needed. But when we look at what we do know, we can draw some relatively straightforward goals and objectives, as detailed in the workshop report - "The case for a commercial/civil space traffic management capability

The 2017 workshop took an alternative approach, focussing on walking through a satellite operations scenario - from launch to orbit - to elucidate what information (in whose possession) about it would be required for effective space traffic management.
