Monday 14th July - Welcome Reception

Discover the flavours of Scotch, Irish and Welsh malt whiskies at this talk and tasting by Dr. David Wishart, Fellow of Management at the University of St Andrews and author of Whisky Classified: Choosing Single Malts by Flavour.

Edinburgh Castle & Royal Mile Walking Tour

After a short walk from the conference venue (15 mins) you will be met by an experienced tour guide and given a tour of Edinburgh Castle. There will be time for you to look around the Castle at your leisure, then you will be taken on a short walking tour of the attractions on the Royal Mile.

Forth Bridges Cruise Bus and Boat Tour

 

Enjoy the grand sights of Edinburgh and a sightseeing tour on the Forth Belle with its famous road and railway bridges. The bus leaves from the north side of St Andrew Square (15 min walk from the conference venue) and takes you direct to Hawes Pier at South Queensferry where you will board the Forth Belle for a 75 minute cruise. You will have the opportunity to see a variety of marine wildlife including seabirds, seals. There may even be a chance to see dolphins and killer whales! You will have the option to visit Inchcolm Island (tickets available on the boat for an additional £5.50). Bus journey times are approximately 25 minutes each way.

Thursday 17th July – Conference Dinner.

 
7pm Dynamic Earth
A short 20 minute walk from Pollock Halls in the striking Holyrood Park is Dynamic Earth. You will have stunning views of the Salisbury Crags, the Palace of Holyroodhouse and the Scottish Parliament.You will enjoy a pre-dinner drink and stroll through the Earthscape galleries followed by a 3 course dinner. Cloakroom and free parking is available to guests.
