Discover the flavours of Scotch, Irish and Welsh malt whiskies at this talk and tasting by Dr. David Wishart, Fellow of Management at the University of St Andrews and author of Whisky Classified: Choosing Single Malts by Flavour. Thursday 30th June - Half day excursions  

 
You have a choice of the following 2 trips. Please indicate which you would prefer when you register. Note places will be filled on first-come-first served basis:

  

Edinburgh Castle & Royal Mile Walking Tour (FULLY BOOKED)

After a short walk from the conference venue (20-30 mins), you will be met by an experienced tour guide and given a tour of Edinburgh Castle. There will be time for you to look around the Castle at your leisure, then you will be taken on a short walking tour of the attractions on the Royal Mile.

You may wish to remain in town for the conference dinner which is located next to the Castle or there will be time to return to your room.
 

Rosslyn Chapel

A bus will pick you up from Pollock Halls after lunch and take you down towards the Borders to the historic village of Roslin. A guide on the bus will supply commentary, and you will receive a guided tour of Rosslyn Chapel, made famous by the Da Vinci code. There is also the opportunity to walk into Rosslyn Glen/Castle. You will return in time for freshening up before dinner.
 

Thursday 30th June – Conference Dinner.

 
7.30 The Hub
A piper will greet you at the Hub where you will enjoy a 3 course dinner with wine and a complimentary drink on arrival, followed by a ceilidh dancing demonstration and the opportunity to take to the dancefloor and try some Scottish dancing yourself! The Hub is a short walk from the conference venue (20-30mins) and is located next to Edinburgh Castle.
