Further information about the University of Edinburgh's Wireless Network provision may be found by clicking here:
We recommend, whenever possible, that delegates use the 'eduroam' service: http://www.eduroam.org/
You will need to sign up at your home institution, and should be able to use the credentials your home institution issued to login to the eduroam service at Edinburgh.
Guest Accounts
If you are unable to register for 'eduroam', when you arrive and register on Monday, we shall issue a wireless guest account that you can use during the Plenary and breakout sessions at South Hall.
We shall ask you to confirm you accept the University's Computing Regulations, for obvious reasons. These wireless guest accounts are described here:
Please note - this is a more limited service than 'eduroam', but still enables colleagues to connect to web, email and ssh services at their home sites.
Finally, the wireless is available in all public areas, including all meeting venues and JMCC (breakfast and lunch).
Accommodation Network
Internet access (both wired ethernet and wireless) is also available within the Accommodation blocks at Pollock Halls. However, this is operated as a commercial service, and can only be used by buying access cards from Pollock Halls when you check in.
